5 Tips to Turn Your Bathroom Into a Spa-Like Oasis

We think it’s safe to say we could all use more relaxation in our lives, and what better place to start than your own home? If you’re looking to upgrade the peaceful, zen vibes in your home, the bathroom is a great place to start. It’s where you go to unwind and practice self care, rinsing away the dirt of the day, or soaking all your troubles away in a luxurious bath. So here are our five simple tips to increase the spa-like relaxation levels in your very own home bathroom.

1. Bring nature into your oasis

Did you know that surrounding yourself with plants actually has proven benefits to your health? Adding a little bit of something green is an easy, instantaneous way to decrease stress and anxiety and boost relaxation. Add a potted fern next to the shower, or even a little aloe plant on your counter or next to the bathtub and you have instant spa vibes.

2. Bring the relaxation with a soft color palette

Bright pops of color or dramatic contrasts can be fun in powder bathrooms, but when you’re looking to create a true spa-like oasis in your own bathroom it’s best to stick with calming, neutral tones. All white with natural wood accents in a beige or neutral tone is a great choice to create a mellow atmosphere.

3. Upgrade your shower head and/or faucets

Nothing transforms a bathroom faster than unique, elegant fixtures in your bathroom. An upgraded shower head can really elevate your showering experience as well. We recommend accents in a gold, silver or copper for an elegant and sophisticated aesthetic.

4. Add a bathtub caddy

The simple addition of a bathtub caddy can transform an ordinary blah bathtub into a blissful spa experience. There’s just something innately luxurious about reclining in the bath with an elegant, convenient tray for your candles, bath salts, and any other relaxing paraphernalia you so desire.

5. Don’t forget the importance of aromatherapy

Whether it’s a relaxing candle or delicious-smelling bath salts, you can’t have a true spa-like oasis without healing and calming smells. Scents you may want to consider include lavender, chamomile, lemongrass, and floral scents like rose or jasmine. Having a pretty candle burning on your counter or a neutral diffuser that matches your bathroom’s aesthetic running your favorite essential oil provides the perfect final touch for your spa-like oasis.
